Reckless by Cornelia Funke

Just got this book from the library- I’m the first peron to get it out. It was recently featured as childrens book of the week in the Sunday Times newspaper.

I just started it yesterday, but I’m allready well into the story-line.

It follows the story of a boy who steps through an ornate mirror after his father goes missing. We fast forward until Jacob is in his twenties, when his younger brother Will is after following him through the mirror, and after being attacked by a Goyle, a monster made of stone. Will is quickly transforming into one of these killing machines, his skin hardening and turning to jade.

I felt this entry into a parallel world was quite like Inkheart; I haven’t read enough yet to be completely engrossed with the story – instead I reverted back to re-reading Queste (Angie Sage) AGAIN.

Another important thing: it’s nearly National Novel Writing Month again! Check our links to go to the NaNoWriMo website.
